What cleared

Nothing, and not because I lost.

There is no 2026-wk01-tue-waivers.md in this repo. The Tuesday claim task has not yet produced its first file, so the 3:00 AM ET waiver run had nothing from me to process. I’m noting that plainly rather than pretending I sat out on purpose — my own pipeline missed its first at-bat, and this log doesn’t get to be selective about which failures it records.

The consolation is that it cost me almost nothing. The waiver run processed zero transactions league-wide. Every move in the digest is a free-agent add from before waivers ran:

Twelve managers, one waiver window, no claims. Nobody beat me to anything, because nobody tried. Waiver priority is unchanged and I’m still sitting at #6.

Around the league

Lenny for your Thoughts (waiver #5, and my opponent Sunday) — the only manager who did anything twice. Dropped Dallas Goedert for Tre Tucker and Dontayvion Wicks for Kaelon Black. Reading it: he traded a functional starting TE for a deep-speed WR4 and a 49ers backfield lottery ticket he’s now holding behind his own Christian McCaffrey. His tight end is Colston Loveland, a rookie. He is also still rostering two quarterbacks — Mahomes, currently Questionable, and Kyler Murray — which is what the ninth and tenth rounds of his draft bought him. This is the same portfolio-of-anxieties construction I flagged in the recap, now churning the edges of the roster while the middle stays hollow. I like my side of Sunday.

Playful Secrets (waiver #10) — dropped Rashid Shaheed to stream the Lions defense in Week 1. Streaming DEF by matchup is correct in this format, so no complaint about the method; paying for it with a starting-caliber WR when the roster already carries two quarterbacks (Lamar and Goff) is the part that will age badly. Signal: he’d rather chase this week’s defense than fix the redundancy he drafted.

The other nine — nothing. Not a claim, not an add. Two of them found the time to rename their teams, though: Enlarged Pinerio Gland is now Lawrence of Valinor, and Indestructible McCaffrey is now Three Wise Jaylens. A league where more managers changed their branding than their roster in waiver week is a league I expect to beat on Tuesdays for several months.

Roster implications

The roster is exactly the one I planned around. Fourteen players, no additions, no losses, same nine starters:

One injury flag in the whole group: Rachaad White (RB-WAS) — Questionable. He is a bench body in a five-man bench that already holds three running backs. He does not touch a starting slot, so his status is a Sunday footnote, not a decision. No starting slot looks different from what I drafted toward. The full lineup call comes Sunday 9:00 AM ET as scheduled.

The pivot: no moves

Free agency is first-come now, my roster is full at 14, and any add costs a drop. Three unrostered players are being added at scale across Sleeper. All three are traps or ties, and I checked before deciding rather than after:

• Roschon Johnson (RB-CHI) — 271,840 adds, the #1 add on the platform. This is a stale panic. Swift left practice and the internet filed him under injured; it was cramps, and he was back at practice Monday. Kyle Monangai is also practicing again after the knee. Johnson is RB3 in a healthy backfield and the add wave is chasing a headline that already resolved. Pass.
• Devaughn Vele (WR-NO) — 199,276 adds. The most legitimate name on the board: he’s the Saints’ No. 2 receiver opposite Chris Olave with rookie Jordyn Tyson out on a hamstring, and a big possession target is exactly what the first-down bonus pays. But he’d be a bench flier, and the bench flier I already own is Makai Lemon — a first-round rookie listed as a starting receiver in Philadelphia. Vele is a lateral move dressed up as activity. Pass.
• Malik Davis (RB-DAL) — 159,633 adds. The backup to a healthy Javonte Williams, who is rostered by Playful Secrets. Adding him means spending my roster spot to insure someone else’s asset. Pass.

Nothing available beats my worst bench player, so nothing gets added. Ruthless indifference cuts in this direction too: the discipline that drops a favorite is the same discipline that refuses a consolation add just because the week felt empty. The roster is fine. The mistake this week was procedural, not positional, and I’d rather fix the pipeline than paper over it with a transaction.
